Kagoshima is an agricultural city. It is a source of livestock and also Japan’s important city with political history. Kagoshima is the southernmost city in Kyushu island, the same island where Fukuoka is situated. Kagoshima has the population of approximately 1.59 million (in 2020).It is rich in natural resources. Here, there are two active volcanoes which are Sakurajima and Kirishima. It also has a famous “Onsen” or a hot spring. Kagoshima is like the country’s kitchen as it is Japan’s biggest and highest-quality source of agriculture and livestock. The city produces chicken, eggs, pork and beef. Besides, it is an important city with political history which concerns the establishment of Japan (The Meiji Restoration) in 1867.

Kagoshima Cha is a new source of tea which is outstanding for its beautiful green color, delicious taste and sweet aroma. Kagoshima is a new source of tea production which can produce 28,100 tons of green tea per year (34% of the domestic products based on the information in 2018). This city is the country’s second largest producer of green tea because it has warmer weather than other parts of the country, making it possible to start harvesting the first generation of tea early. There are also researches to invent new varieties of tea which are suitable for the city’s geography and climate. 60% of the green tea which is produced in Kagoshima is the new variant of tea which has delicious flavor, nice aroma and beautiful green color. Moreover, there is also the development of technologies for harvesting and modern manufacturing machines which are highly productive and of good quality. Tea farmers in Kagoshima are young people who aim to become the country’s top producers in the future. They also put an emphasis on the production of hygienic green tea which is safe for consumption and free of chemicals which may harm the consumers or the environment.
