The Beginning with Kagoshima Cha
During my stay in Kagoshima for over a decade, whenever there was a visitor, Kagoshima people would make tea and greet him with the word “Osha Ippe” which meant “Please sit, take a sip of tea and relax” in a friendly and humble way which made the visitor feel warm and impressed. The tea at different houses also tasted different. This thing enhanced my interest in green tea. Together with increasing requests for green tea which I brought as souvenirs every time I returned home in Chiang Mai, I decided to start learning about Japanese green tea from the Nihon-Cha Instructor Association. The more I learned, the more I became attracted to the charm of Japanese green tea. Presently, I have received the certification of Nihon-Cha adviser and will continue to learn more and more about Japanese green tea.
Storytelling through “Wagokoro SAKURAJIMA”
After learning about Japanese green tea, I would like to share the wonderful things that I have learned with all Thai people. It is a viewpoint of a Thai who would like to present good things that can be applied in Thai people’s way of life. Such intention is the reason for the establishment of “Wagokoro SAKURAJIMA 「和心さくらじま」” which means “the use of Kagoshima cha as a medium to convey the Japanese cultures and traditions”. “Wagokoro”「和心」 means being Japanese or having a heart full of peace and happiness. “Sakurajima”「さくらじま」 is the name of the volcano which is the symbol of Kagoshima. We have selected high-quality, chemical-free green tea from Kagoshima and introduced the method of tea making, the selection of tea, the benefits of green tea as well as the tea culture of Japanese people which helps create mental balance and health benefits for all Thai people. To make it easy to call and remember, we have registered our trademark under the name “SAKURAJIMA”.
